Airs & Graces specialises in luxury fine linen garments and beautifully crafted everyday basics. We talked with founders/designers Charlotte and Sarah about their journey, what inspires them, and what’s next for Airs & Graces.
Tell us about the journey for Airs & Graces so far…
The Airs & Graces journey started only 18 months ago with the idea for a simple T shirt shape in gorgeous luxury linen. We were obsessed with the beauty of this fabric and it’s relaxed look and feel and natural imperfections. Once we worked on this basic T – now our popular Issy T - our love for linen grew and we added in new styles to create an entire range.
Where do you find inspiration for your products?
Our inspiration for Airs & Graces products comes purely from the linen fabric. Both Sarah and I contribute ideas on what styles we would love to wear that season without being too ‘of the moment’. Our pieces are a nod to the latest trends and silhouettes but ultimately we make classic styles that can be worn season after season.
What makes Airs & Graces special?
Our products are designed with love for the linen fabric. We produce slow, luxury clothing where we encourage woman to buy less, wear it more and to wear fabrics that feel good on your skin. Airs & Graces is special because we make linen effortlessly stylish and you feel good about your investment in our special pieces. We do small runs and get our colours batch died to our exact specifications.
What’s next for Airs & Graces?
Next on the agenda for Airs & Graces is to extend our range with the addition of luxury cotton pieces. We take the same philosohy using a fabric that feels truly lovely to wear and add updated detailing and silhouettes. We are also expanding our linen range into new long sleeved tops and wide leg pants for Autumn/Winter 2018 and working on new colours and styles for next summer.
We are excited to be collaborating with well-known NZ artists on a brand new collection of silk scarves launching at the end of October under the new brand Raw Artistry. Expect to hear a lot more about us as we keep working on beautiful new products.
